Free Pattern - Knit Car Seat Shoulder Strap Cover Pattern

My giveaway is over and I hope everyone has now collected their winnings!   It was a lot of fun!  Thank you all for joining me and making it wonderful!

So I've decided that my carseat shoulder straps should be available for free!  So here is the pattern.  They are ridiculously easy and super fast!   The picture below is of my daughter so you can see how they work. I've changed them a bit since then but it's still the same concept.  The ones you see on her carseat are actually wip stitched on instead of buttoned.  I now put buttons on them.  I've used these covers since my son was a baby so about 6 years!  I love them.  I did have one person worry about them not making the carseat work properly.  I've never had that problem.  The yarn I usually use is Caron or another super soft (4 worsted weight yarn) so it's not thick and chunky.  These just keep the straps from leaving that line on your babies neck.  I hated that when my son was little so this is what I came up with.  (If you are interested in a finished pair they are available in my Etsy Shop for $10.  Here's the link.  https://www.etsy.com/shop/SugarBabyKnits?section_id=12885619)
Knit Car Seat Shoulder Strap Cover Pattern
Use whatever yarn you want. Something super soft is best!  I love to use Caron or baby yarn.

Needle size 3
No gauge is needed!
Need 6 small buttons
Tapestry Needle

Need to know ribbing, Purl, Knit

CO 26 sts
Purl 2 knit 2 across until piece measures 6 inches (or desired length).
Keep in the rib pattern when you bind off.

Arrange cover so ribbing is vertical to belt strap.  Attach a button at the top corner, middle and bottom corner (2 buttons work too).  Fold in half and push button thru a stitch.  I don't make button holes because I find it holds better, just push buttons thru stitches.
This is what the finished product looks like once you're done.  If you're worried about button holes don't be!  The yarn will stretch just grab a button that fits thru the yarn!   Below are pictures of both 2 buttons and 3 buttons!

I hope you enjoy this pattern as much as I do!  I would love to see pics of you're finished covers!
Finished items may be sold but please refer back to me as the patterns author and include a link to my shop in your listing- Thank  You!  Please do not resell this pattern that is available for free.
